FREE NOTARY SERVICES

The Town of Elgin is pleased to announce that effective September 1, 2026, notary
services will be available at no charge during business hours (excluding the lunch hour).

You must present a valid government-issued photo ID and DO NOT SIGN your
documents prior to presenting them to the notary.

The following documents are excluded from our notary services:

* Real Estate
* Last Wills and Testaments
* Health Care Powers of Attorney or Proxies
* Living Wills
* Durable Powers of Attorney

Marriage ceremonies are by appointment only.
