Most current update from Kershaw County: All calls concerning flooding, road conditions, FEMA, etc are to go to 803-425-7242-Central Number available for citizens. If it is an emergency, call 911. All roads to the Sumter County Line are open, but closed thereafter. We have (4) county bridges washed out and (3) state bridges. Twenty-five Mile Creek Watershed Project

Kershaw County and the Town of Elgin are assisting Richland County which has been awarded a grant from the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) to reduce bacteria levels in the Twenty-five Mile Creek Watershed located in Richland, Kershaw and Fairfield Counties. The goal of the Twenty-five Mile Creek Watershed Project is to work with local land owners on voluntary projects to reduce bacteria from agricultural activities.
