Build Your Own Rain Barrel Workshop

Come learn how to protect our streams and save money on your water bill! Rain barrels collect rainwater off your roof, which you can use to water your garden, wash your car and for any other outdoor use.

Kershaw County and the Town of Elgin Stormwater Departments will be hosting a Rain Barrel Workshop on August 6th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Elgin Town Hall, 2469 Main Street, Elgin, SC. During the workshop, you will construct your own rain barrel to take home with you.

All supplies and equipment will be included in the cost of registration. Must register in advance to attend. Space is limited to the first paid 10 registrants. Please contact Kelly Creswell at 803-798-1200 or Kelly.creswell@amecfw.com to register for the event or for more information. Cost of the event is $25 per rain barrel.

  1. Collecting rain water is a very valuable conservation effort for the wallet and the environment. I use my collected rain water to keep my grass green and fresh during the hot arid weeks we get over the summer. Saves a lot of money compared to using a hose or irrigation system.

We couldn’t agree with you more Jimmy. We have hosted several Rain Barrel Workshops in the past to encourage our residents to do the same. Thank you for exhibiting your concern for the environment.

      Many Thanks,
