Rest in Peace Mrs. Mamie

On behalf of myself and the Town of Elgin, I would like to extend my sympathy to the family of Mamie Pierce.  For those of you who did not have the opportunity to know this woman, I am sorry, for there will never be another like her.  I was fortunate to grow up around her and learned very quickly that she was one tough cookie.  She had a heart of gold and a smile that could melt the snow off a mountaintop-she loved all that took the time to get to know her.  She and her husband, Mr. Curtis, have left lasting prints on the Town of Elgin-they were the perfect examples of how to love and serve your community!  This graceful woman loved her family and loved life and lived it to the fullest.  I thank you Mrs. Mamie for all that you have taught myself and so many  and may God bless your family as they face tomorrow without you.  Heaven has a new angel and I have no doubt she’s already telling them how it needs to be done-we will miss you Mamie Lou, but will never forget you!
