Eskie Dixon Road Bridge Closing April 2, 2018

The South Carolina Department of Transportation plans to replace the bridge on S-28-700 (Eskie Dixon Road) over Unnamed Creek in Kershaw County.

Replacement of the bridge is necessary due to the bridge being structurally deficient.  The bridge over Unnamed Creek is being replaced with a new 70 food pre-stressed concrete bridge deck.  The bridge will be closed on April 2, 2018, for approximately thirteen weeks.  Pending any delays due to weather conditions, fabricator delays, etc., the new bridge should be reopened to traffic by July 2, 2018.

Due to the relatively low traffic volumes, and in order to minimize the construction duration, cost, and impact to property owners in the area, the road will be closed and traffic detoured during construction.  The current plan is for the detour to use roads S-28-757 (Watts Hill Road) and US 1 (Main Street).
