Position Available-Elgin Town Clerk/Clerk of Court

 

The Town of Elgin is accepting applications for the position of Town Clerk/Clerk of Court.  This is a full-time position with benefits and this employee reports directly to the Mayor and Town Council.  In addition to the normal day to day operations, this individual will be responsible for attending and preparing minutes for all meetings of the town council, as well as any jury trials that may take place.  In addition, courtroom experience or knowledge of the criminal justice system would be preferred.

Requires a vocational/technical diploma in accounting, bookkeeping/accounting or related field supplemented by three to five years of general bookkeeping/accounting and payroll experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary.  This individual must be able to perform in a fast paced environment.  The Salary Range is $31,500.00 to $37,500.00 and the position will be open until filled, but the deadline for applications is Monday, April 30th.
