May 28, 2013-Special Meeting-Minutes

A Special Meeting was held by the Elgin Town Council on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 6 p.m. at the Elgin Town Hall with Mayor Hanley presiding.

Invocation was given by Melissa Emmons and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Hanley.

A Public Hearing was first on the Agenda pertaining to the revised Zoning Ordinance for the Town of Elgin. A motion was made to accept the ordinance with an amendment to include Bars on the list of disallowed businesses on Main Street by Councilwoman Emmons, 2nd by Councilwoman Sloan. Vote was unanimous. There was no further discussion on this matter.

1st Reading of Ordinance 223 – 2013-14 Budget – Mayor Hanley explained to council how the budget figures were derived. A motion by Councilwoman Emmons to accept the 1st reading and 2nd by Councilman Smith, with a unanimous vote. The 2nd reading date is set for June 17th at 6 p.m.

Meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
