December 3, 2013-Minutes

The regular monthly meeting of the Elgin Town Council was held on Tuesday, December 3rd at 7:00 pm at the Elgin Town Hall. All council members were present and Mayor Brad Hanley presided. The Invocation was given by Councilwoman Emmons and followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, which was led by Mayor Hanley. “A Sand Hills Revelation” Book Signing

The eagerly anticipated Blaney-Elgin history book, " A Sand Hills Revelation", written by local author Madge Strickland, will debut with a book signing at Elgin Town Hall. The event will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 2:00-5:00 PM. There will be copies available for purchase at this time. Proceeds from the book will go to the Blaney-Elgin Museum & Historical Society. Elgin’s Citizen of the Year-2013

The Town of Elgin would like to congratulate Mrs. Kathy Brown for being named "Elgin's Citizen of the Year". Mrs. Brown is an individual that gives daily to our community in a variety of ways. She is a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife to Chief Harold Brown. She checks on our seniors regularly and was instrumental in the formation of the Elgin Police Department's Toys Roundup and Caring Hands Organization. Christmas in Elgin

The holiday season in Elgin is always a great time of year with many activities for the family. We will officially kickoff the Christmas season on Thursday, December 5th at 7:00 with our Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
